Nicely manicured course with three loops of nine. It can make it chaotic starting your 2nd nine slotting in with others starting their round.

Very nice course. Greens true and undulating. Great views. If you are a single you will have to make an effort to get paired up as they don't do that by default. Course was very quiet in May. Courtesy bus is a money saver if you don't have a car but they time your pickup so you arrive at the course about 10 mins before your tee time so only a quick practice putt if you're lucky!

We had problem with the transportation from the hotel. The driver said that only one person was ordered from Royal Savoy. He called Santo da Serra which confirmed one person . I said that 2 greenfees were paid, so transportation shoul be also for two. After a while they admitted their mistake but the car was full, so we were asked to wait another car. Luckily they changed their transportation plan and the same car came to pick up us. This was very bad experience for us because we thought that we are not able to play during that day.
All other thinf worked pretty well in Santo da Serra

Sehr oft ist der landende Ball nicht direkt sichtbar, verdeckt durch Hügel und andere Hindernisse.
Für die Spieler, die den Platz kennen. ein sehr interessanter und spannender Platz. Die Spielbahnen sind nicht für Flachland-Indianer ausgelegt.

We had 3,5 days with good weather and pleasant golf--Madeira may in January not be the right place for golf. ! The courses were good, but not of a quality that you would specifically remember. We have played better ones in both Portugal, Spain and e. g. Scotland and Sweden. The Golf Club Restaurant´s food was not of the kind you will save as a memory.
All in all our hotel Santo da Serra Golf was very good, the staff at the golf course and the hotel very friendly and service-minded. Will we return for golf, ? Not likely , but may be for hikes and pleasure.

Heute haben wir den Machicho und Desierte gespielt. Ein eindrucksvoller Platz .spektakulärer Ausblick, obwohl es heute sehr kalt und windig war, haben wir die Runde genossen. Durch die Regenfälle der letzten zwei Tage waren die Bunker teilweise unter Wasser, dafür waren die Greens schon hart und schnell.
Wir werden den Platz noch 3-4 mal spielen und freuen uns jetzt schon darau.

Die 3 x 9 Loch sind sehr schön in die Landschaft integriert, phantastischer Ausblick von Desertas und Macchico, Serra haben wir als etas langweilig empfunden.
Pflegezustand sehr gut, da es in dieser Höhe auch deutlich häufiger regnet. Golfkleidung auch entsprechend anpassen! Mit Trolley sollte man gute Kondition haben.
Clubrestaurant von der Qualität nicht unbedingt zu empfehlen.

We enjoyed our round ofgolfvery much. Two things for improvent: it is nowhere clear what the pinpositionwas at each hole. Second point is that the graphics of the hole are only shown at the man tee and not at the woman tee

I was surprised at the condition of the course for a PGA golf course .
The bunkers were hard and the sand was more grit than sand .
I was very difficult to find the access to the fairways from the buggy paths due to height of thr concrete edging .
The signage was very poor and I missed the next tee on a number of occasions .
The quality of the buggies was also poor andI had to return one because the brakes were dangerous .
The plus side was the quality of the greens which were quick with difficult borrows .
The page that you provided was very good value .

The course is very hilly, buggy is recommended. It is necessary to have a good distance on the T-Shoots. No course for Beginners.

Old 9 Holes (Serras) good and varied.
New (championship Course) arduous if walking. Many steep hills. Soft fairways and hard unreceptive greens often unrewarding of good shots.. Fairways not in good condition, bare patches and clover. Bunkers poorly maintained.

Staff service and transfer driver were the best ever and looked after us making us feel very happy.
Fantastic course in great condition considering the amount of rain they had that week. Greens were excellent quick and impossible to read. Risk and reward par 5s with awesome par 3s. Great fun.

Very very good course. staff were very friendly and welcoming. Good advice from club pro that on the greens everything roles towards the sea. The greens are fast and defiantly not flat. The dark beer in the clubhouse is lovely.
